Am I coming to terms with the bad beats on Full Tilt? I can't really tell, but I am winning more often when I recognize a situation where I am going to be sucked out on, and am more apt to get the hell out, even with just more than a few chips left. I layed down AA with a board that had TJ9 T 8 and facing a bet from a reasonably tight player. I felt good about that one becuase I ended up coming back and winning the token. I have a video of this one.

After week off from playing due to a mini-NHL road trip, I came back to try and earn a few tokens. My bankroll is about $1,900 right now, after I withdrew recently, so I really prefer winning the tokens instead of paying the $26 to get in. I know I am cheap.

Checked in while I was Pittsburgh to see a hockey game. My son wanted to play a game so I let him roll with a couple of 2 buck tournaments, after I showed him how to win. he dumped a couple, while I watched the Spizter saga on CNN.

Rules You Need to Know When Playing on Full Tilt Poker

There are a lot of resources out there to learn how to play no-limit hold’em reasonably well. It isn’t really a difficult game to learn after you have seen a few rounds of play. If there was ever a game that followed the axiom of a minute to learn but a lifetime to master, then hold’em is that game!

Given how easy it is to learn how to play, there should really be more attention to etiquette and rules when playing online. At Full Tilt Poker I see it all the time as players and spectators abuse the privileges and stretch rules to the point where you can hardly even fight it anymore. Most are just ignorant and won’t care at all one way or the other, but if you do care then these are a few things you should know about some basic rules at Full Tilt with respect to the chat box.

It’s pretty much standard to yak, tease, lie, slander, and berate in the chat box – but NOT while a hand is in play. I mean let’s face it - there is no way anyone is going to stop the acid-tongued trashing that we know in online poker, however you must be, as part of the online poker community, cognizant of this basic rule. If you are not in the hand, keep your mouth (chat box) shut! This way, you will never have to be concerned about what you are saying interfering with the hand in play.

You also cannot reveal your hole cards verbally, in the hand or not, until after the hand is over, should you be inclined to do so. For most players this is common knowledge, but there always seems to be one or two fools at the table that think they cannot affect the outcome if they chat out they folded spades when there are two spades on the flop. Basic odds math may very well alter some decisions with the remaining players in the hand. This kind of interference ranges from stupidity to collusion.

On most of the major poker sites it is ENGLISH only people! That means no German, Swedish, Hispanic, Italian, French or anything else – it is ENGLISH only. This isn’t being prejudiced its making sure there isn’t blatant collusion at the table. You wouldn’t interrupt a conversation with another language if you knew others didn’t speak it right? It’s not cool and it makes everyone suspicious of you and they just may end up gunning for your elimination.

When you are playing online, the betting, pots and winning hands are taken care of by the software at your poker site, but it can’t take care of how ignorant someone can be in the chat box. You have to control that part.
